Two fighters transported to hospital following UFC Vegas 111, including former title challenger
Better to be safe than sorry …
Following UFC Vegas 111 last night (Sat., Oct. 11, 2025) inside the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, company officials confirmed to MMAmania.com that two fighters were transported to a local “Sin City” hospital for precautionary reasons after their bouts.
The two fighters were Marco Tulio and former UFC Bantamweight title challenger Mayra Bueno Silva.
Tulio (14-2) was sent for a precautionary CT scan of his head and face after suffering a brutal knockout loss at the hands of Christian Leroy Duncan, which left him unconscious for several minutes (watch highlights).
The 31-year-old Brazilian saw his 10-fight win streak snapped — his first loss since 2018. Before UFC Vegas 111, Tulio had earned back-to-back finishes over Tresean Gore (watch highlights) and Ihor Potieria in his first two Octagon appearances.
Bueno Silva (10-6-1) was also taken to the hospital for a precautionary CT scan of her head and face, as well as an X-ray of her foot, following a three-round beatdown from Jacqueline Cavalcanti on the UFC Vegas 111 prelims. The former title challenger has now dropped four straight fights — the longest losing streak of her career — and could be facing a release from the promotion. Bueno Silva is now 5-6-1-1 inside the Octagon.
The results of both fighters’ scans are currently unknown, though they have since been released from the hospital.
It is not a rare occurrence for UFC to transport fighters to the hospital for precautionary reasons, especially if the fighters are involved in three-round battles full of damage.
