UFC Hall of Famer set for return at UFC 327 after 13-month layoff
A crowd-pleasing brawler is set to make another appearance in Miami.
The UFC’s 2026 schedule is starting to take shape. With just one title fight booked between January and March, fans are hoping the rest of the year delivers something bigger.
Following Charles Oliveira’s BMF title challenge against Max Holloway at UFC 326 in Las Vegas, the Octagon will head back to ‘The Magic City’ for an April event on Paramount+.
Four bouts have already been announced for UFC 327, with Dominick Reyes, Paulo Costa, and Tatiana Suarez all scheduled to return.
And it looks like a UFC Hall of Famer might be joining the line-up.
Cub Swanson to step back into the cage at UFC 327
Storylines are already starting to take shape for the promotion’s next stop in Miami.
Costa, unable to work his way back into the middleweight title conversation, is set to move up and take on undefeated light heavyweight Azamat Murzakanov.
Suarez will also be returning for her first bout since her unsuccessful title shot, while Reyes vs. Johnny Walker looks like a fight that should deliver some excitement.
While fans continue to wait for news on a headliner or any title fights being added, a familiar name appears ready to join the April 11th card.
Cub Swanson has not fought since he knocked out Billy Quarantillo at a UFC Fight Night event in Tampa back in December 2024 – a night also remembered for Colby Covington’s tough loss to Joaquin Buckley.
Now, more than a year later, Swanson has taken to social media once again to announce his return at UFC 327. This time though, he did not say who he will be facing inside Miami’s Kaseya Center.
“It’s official,” was all Swanson had written alongside his post.
The Californian, now 42, was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2022. This induction recognized the Fight Wing war between Swanson and Dooho Choi at UFC 206.
Cub Swanson is looking to break a long-standing streak at UFC 327
‘Killer’ has been on a stretch of inconsistency since 2020, but his upcoming appearance in Miami gives him a chance to put that behind him.
His last set of back-to-back wins came between 2019 and 2020, when he followed up a decision victory over Kron Gracie by stopping Daniel Pineda at UFC 256. Since then, it’s been a mixed bag.
Since then, the fan favourite has experienced a mixed record, falling to Giga Chikadze, Jonathan Martinez, and Andre Fili inside the Octagon.
Swanson will also be looking to take advantage of the UFC’s new $ 100k bonus structure as he tries to piece together his first win streak in six years.
