Victoria Mboko shares Instagram message after making her Australian Open debut

Victoria Mboko can look back with pride after impressing on her debut at the Australian Open.

Mboko made it to the fourth round of the Australian Open, knocking out Emerson Jones, Caty McNally and Clara Tauson.

Her dream run was ended only by WTA number one Aryna Sabalenka, who boasts two titles at the hard-court Grand Slam.

Sabalenka won her following match against Iva Jovic, who Mboko played doubles with at the Australian Open.

The hugely exciting WTA duo won their opening match together before suffering a second round exit in Melbourne.

Victoria Mboko loved her Australian Open debut

Mboko has now analyzed her time at the tournament on social media, sharing a brief post on her Instagram.

She wrote: “What a lovely time spent at my first-ever Australian Open.

“Such a great way to start the season! Until next time! [Peace] out.”

Before the Grand Slam, the 19-year-old Canadian made it all the way to the final of the Adelaide International.

But after beating the likes of 2025 Australian Open champion Madison Keys, she lost the final to fellow youngster Mirra Andreeva.

How has Victoria Mboko performed on the WTA Tour?

Like Jovic, Mboko is undoubtedly one of the biggest rising talents in world tennis, not just on the WTA Tour.

The teenager is already a two-time WTA champion, with one of her titles arriving on home soil in Montreal, beating former world number one Naomi Osaka in the final.

Following an impressive Australian Open debut, Mboko is now ranked 13th in the world, which represents a career-high.

She already boasts 137 wins in her exciting career so far, compared to 55 losses, while she’s earned over $ 2million in prize money.

It’s certainly an exciting time for women’s tennis, with the likes of Mboko, Jovic and Andreeva joined by other young talents such as Alexandra Eala, Coco Gauff and Maya Joint among others.
