AMSA girls tennis’ No. 1 doubles team Katina Gakis and Sameera Patnala was voted the Daily News Athlete of the Week for April 4-10. The pair weathered a 7-6 (5), 6-3 win over Whitinsville Christian to secure a narrow victory.
They received 50.92 percent of the more than 2,700 votes. Natick setter Luke Dratch placed second (34.17 percent). now we’ll turn our attention to last week’s standouts. Here are the nominees for April 25-May 1.

Emily Beauchesne, Algonquin girls tennis
She cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles for the Titans against Grafton on Thursday.
Finn Bell, Wayland boys volleyball
He had 18 kills, 5 digs and 3 aces for the Warriors in a win over Westford Academy on Wednesday.
May Chen, Hopkinton girls tennis
She earned a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles against Millis on Monday.
Martin Goudea, Westborough boys track and field
He won the 2-mile 2 mile (10:36) and the mile (5:02) in a victory over Shepherd Hill on Tuesday.
Denis Grishechkin & Sohan Javali, Holliston boys tennis
They prevailed in a third set tiebreaker 11-9 at No. 1 doubles to secure a win for the Panthers over Dover-Sherborn on Wednesday.
Mollie Hatch & Addie Loer, Millis girls tennis
The No. 1 doubles team powered a win over Norwood with a 6-0, 6-0 victory Thursday.
Gina Hajiseyedjavady, Westborough girls tennis
She pulled out a 7-6 (8-6), 6-3 win at No. 1 singles against Emmy Beauchesne to secure the sweep for the Rangers on Wednesday.
Ashley Huang, Westborough girls golf
She earned the medal with a 36, as the Rangers beat Ayer-Shirley at Westborough Country Club on Thursday.
Saisha Kollouri, AMSA girls tennis
She led the way for the Eagles at No. singles with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Chloe Zinzola on Monday.
Joe Krattenmaker, Hopkinton boys tennis
He cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles for the Hillers against Medfield on Wednesday.
Corey Lu, Algonquin boys tennis
He secured a victory over Grafton on Thursday with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Max Schmidt at No. 1 singles.
Ari Levine, Hopedale track and field
He was named the MVP of the Mercury Games on April 25 at Bridgewater-Raynham after winning the discus at 162 feet, 6 inches, the No. 4 mark in the state this year. Levine also played second in the javelin (140-04) and fourth in the shot put (50-11).
Samantha Mahoney, Marlborough girls track & field
She was first in the pole vault and 200 and took second in the 100 for the Panthers againstNorth Middlesex on Wednesday.
Avery Michaud, Hopkinton girls tennis
She won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles to help the Hillers best Medfield and extend her unbeaten streak Wednesday.
Calebe Pereira, Marlborough boys volleyball
He had 27 assists in a win over Nashoba on Thursday. Pereira added 30 assists against Lincoln-Sudbury on Tuesday.
Al Regner, Westborough girls track & field
She placed first in the 100-meter hurdles and discus for the Rangers against shepherd Hill on Tuesday.
Riley Restic, Nipmuc girls track and field
She won the 400-meter hurdles at April 25th’s Mercury Games at Bridgewater Raynham, crossing the line in 1 minutes, 7.11 seconds, the No. 7 time in Massachusetts this spring.
Joe Samra, Westborough boys track & field
He finished first in the put (41 feet, 5 inches) and the discus (116 feet) for the Rangers against Shepherd Hill on Tuesday.
Gus Da Silva, Milford boys volleyball
He had 29 kills in a 3-2 win over Cambridge Rindge & Latin on April 25.
Yaniv Taussky, Wellesley boys tennis
He cruised 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles for the Raiders against Weymouth on Wednesday.
Yanira Uribe Rose, Marlborough girls track & field
She placed first in the shot put and 400-meter hurdles and second in the javelin in a victory over North Middlesex on Wednesday.
Simon Valentino, Marlborough boys tennis
He beat Sudar Meyyappan 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles on Thursday.
