Magomed Ankalaev scoffs at Jiri Prochazka callout: 'No. 1 easy fight'

Magomed Ankalaev dismissed Jiri Prochazka’s callout.

Prochazka (32-6-1 MMA, 6-3 UFC) was knocked out by Carlos Ulberg in their vacant light heavyweight title fight at UFC 327 earlier this month. He was asked when he’d like to return and which opponents could make sense when he does.

“I want to be back, I think around – right now I have the time with my girls, so it will be like two months,” Prochazka said on “The Ariel Helwani Show.” “Right now it’s two months really in the big press, so I just came back from after the fight and straight to the hospital. Right now I believe somewhere around October. Right now, (Paulo) Costa or (Magomed) Ankalaev.”

Magomed Ankalaev (21-2-1 MMA, 12-2-1 UFC) was quick to bask in Prochazka’s demise after he was finished by Ulberg. The former champion claims that he already has a fight booked and that Prochazka’s challenge came a little too late.

“Jiri Prochazka got knocked out by a man with one leg and now he calls me out after finding out I already have an opponent. Carlos Ulberg is right this guy is a pretender, he never wanted to really fight me and he’s the number one easy fight in LHW division.”

Ankalaev was the one to put Alex Pereira‘s reign to an end when he dethroned him at UFC 313 to become champion. However, he was finished in their rematch at UFC 320 by first-round TKO.
